from pension papers of John Guise, son of Peter Guise
October 1832, John Guise, born in the state of New Jersey, his father having removed to Maryland whilst deponent was a child, The father of deponent resided in the county of Frederick State of Maryland where he also lived at the time he entered service which took place in the year 1778.
Deponent returning home to his father in Maryland and soon after his father removed to Rockingham County State of Virginia deponent with him, Sometime in the year 1780 a similar call was made on the militia of the county and state for eighteen months (Note: Discharge from first term of service was in March 1779.)
