Sarah was born on 5 October 1834 in Frederick County, Maryland. She was the daughter of George Gittinger and Charlotte Scholl. She was christened on 17 September 1835 at the German Evangelical Reformed Church in Frederick, Maryland.[1] She passed away in Frederick before her second birthday, on 5 August 1836 and is buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, Frederick County, Maryland. [2]
