Biagio Giuffrida is born in his parents' home on via del Carmine in Corleone, on 14 January 1850. His birth is reported by the midwife, Francesca Paola de Luca, age 46. His mother, Domenica Vaccaro, is 33 (b. 1817). His father, Sebastiano Giuffrida, is also 33, and a merciajo (a haberdasher) by profession.[1]
Biagio and Giuseppa di Giglia, daughter of the late Leoluca, post banns in August and September of 1879.[2]
Biagio, a cigar maker, dies a widower on 22 June 1917 in Manhattan. His wife, called "Josephine," dies 31 January 1918. Biagio's brother, Leoluca, and Leoluca's wife, Maria, are buried together with Biagio and Josephine in Calvary Cemetery.[3][4] An image of their grave is available at BillionGraves.com.
