James Glading was born in 1855 and baptised on 4 Jan 1857 at Redruth, Cornwall, England. He was the son of Samuel Glading and Eliza Wickett.[1][2]
In the 1861 census, James Glading was age 6 living at Plain An Quarry, Redruth, Cornwall with his father Samuel Glading (40), mother Eliza Glading (44), sisters Elizabeth Glading (15), Sarah Glading (1), brother Henry Glading (8).[3]
In the 1871 census, James Glading was age 15 living at Redruth, Cornwall with his mother Eliza Glading (33)[probably a mistranscription], brother Henry Glading (18). Occupation: Driver.[4]
James Glading possibly emigrated to the United States. He might have been the James Gladdin, age 18, who emigrated to New York in 1873.[5]
