Biography

Annzelana Gladstone, daughter ofArthur Gladstone Susannah Hitt, was born July 22, 1804 in Fauquier County, Virginia. She married her cousin, Garrett Thompson Hitt, on March 9, 1833 in Fauquier County, Virginia[1][2]. Annzelana died January 26, 1884 in Pulaski, Williams, Ohio and was buried in Old Pulaski Cemetery, Williams County, Ohio[3]

Garrett Thompson and Annzelana (Gladstone) Hitt had the following children:

  1. William Arthur Hitt
  2. James Alexander Hitt

Marriage

This will certify that I am willing that Garrett T Hitt, doth obtain a License to join in wedlock with my daughter Anseylaney Gladton of which I recommend to the clerk of Fuaquier Coty, given under my hand and seal this 26 Febry 1833, signed Arthur (his Mark) Gladson, witnesses Aquilla Hitch, Daniel Gladstun.

Garrett T Hitt and Danile Gladston were bondsmen, bound to John Floyd, Governor of Virginia for $150, dated 27th day of February 1833, for the marriage of Garrett T Hitt and Anseylany Gladston of the county of Fauquier, daughter of Gladston (of full age). Signed Garrett T Hitt and Daniel Gladstun

The Bryan Democrat, January 31, 1884[12]:

At her home in Pulaski, Ohio, January 26th., 1884, Mrs. Anzelana HITT, in her 80th. year. Mrs. HITT was born in Fauquier county, Va., July 22nd., 1804; was married to G. T. HITT March 9th., 1833; removed with her husband to Seneca county, Ohio, in 1834, thence to Pulaski, Williams county, Ohio, in 1838. She was a consistent member of the Baptist church and was loved and respected by all her neighbors. She leaves a husband and two sons to mourn the loss of a wife and mother.

HITT-At her home in Pulaski village, on Saturday, January 26, 1884, in the 80th. year of her age. Mrs. HITT was born in Fauquier county, Virginia, July 22, 1804, and was married to Garrett T. HITT, March 9, 1834, and removed with him to Seneca county, this State, in 1834. They came to this county and settled at Pulaski in 1838. She was a consistent member of the Baptist church and was loved a And respected by all her neighbors. She leaves her husband and two sons to mourn the loss of a wife and mother.
