Research Notes

The death notice gives no age. However, there is an 1840 census showing a household of "District 8, Martin, North Carolina" headed by Edward Glasgow. Only the name of the head of household is given; the members were recorded as: male under 5, male 40-50, female 5-10, female 30-40. If this is the same person then it suggests he was born 1790-1800. [2]

He may have been from one of the rural townlands in the general vicinity of Cookstown -- overseas death notices often just said "Cookstown" for those cases.
