Biography

William Glasscock was an Appalachian.

William Glasscock (1775-1850) was born in Virginia (in what is now Harrison County, West Virginia.) He was the son of Thomas Glascock (1731-1799) and Agnes Agatha Rector (1746-1793). [1]

William married Mahala Alice Cole (1779-1859) on March 14, 1798 in Fauquier, Virginia. The couple had at least four children Hannah Glascock Wood (1802–1891) and Margaret Glasscock Boilen/Boylen (1804–1880), Spencer Glascock (1815–1911) and Chapin Glasscock (1823–1882).

William died in about 1850 in what is now Taylor County, West Virginia.

Could be the William Glasscock named in the will of William Cole in Harrison County, 1818. William Cole's daughter, Ealse (Alice? Elsie?) was married to a man named William Glasscock.
