Henry Glasson was born on 1st July 1826 at Breage, Cornwall, England. He was a son of John Glasson and Mary Glasson.[1] [2]
He married Annie Paull on 15th April 1853 at Breage.[3]
The Glasson family set sail from London, England via Plymouth on 28 Dec 1860 aboard the ship, Sussex and arrived in Hobson's Bay, Victoria on 11 Mar 1861. The family consisted of parents, Henry Glasson (age 34, farmer) and Ann (34), their 4 sons, John (6), Henry (5), Joseph (3) and Robert (2). Also aboard was Henry's sister Susan (38)[4][5]. They continued their journey on to New South Wales, Australia the same year where sadly their twin sons passed away during 1861. (See research notes below) Three further children were born in the colony.
He passed away on 10th January 1891 at Stanfield, Carcoar, New South Wales.[6]
Interestingly, twin sons, Richard Paull GLASSON and William Paull GLASSON, both born in 1860 in the Helston district in England are not mentioned on the original passenger list for the Sussex but they must have traveled with the family as they both passed away in 1861 in New South Wales (Carcoar and Sydney respectively)
