Fernando Gleason was born June 8, 1835 in Bedford, Cuyahoga, Ohio to Drusilla Brown and Almon Gleason.
Fernando resided in Bedford in 1850 in his parents' household, which included brothers, Harry and Elmer. His father and brother, Harry, were farmers.
In 1860, Fernando was engaged in farming with his father, Almon. He was married to Bernice Brakeman in 1859. Fernando and Bernice lived with his parents, sister, and teenagers, Orella and Lewis Brown, relationship unknown (but perhaps a niece and nephew of his mother, Drusilla), in Harpersfield, Ashtabula, Ohio.
In 1880, Fernando and Bernice continued to reside in Harperfield. They had five children in their household at the time - Effie, Ernest, Ruth, Almon and Orlando.
Fernando and Bernice and their daughter, Ruth, were residents of Harpersfield Township in 1900. They had nine children but only five were living at the time of the census. They owned their home; Fernando was a farmer.
Fernand died April 21, 1918 in Middleburg, Cuyahoga, Ohio. He was a widower aged 82 and buried at Harpersfield, Ashtabula, Ohio.
