When Levi Wheeler Gleason was born on September 15, 1797, in Langdon, New Hampshire, his father, Thaddeus Gleason, was 34 and his mother, Dolly Wheeler, was 33. He married Eliza Risley Dickinson on September 16, 1824, in Glastonbury, Connecticut. They had ten children in 21 years. He died on November 3, 1875, in Pitcairn, New York, having lived a long life of 78 years, and was buried in Gouverneur, New York.
