The England census of 1851 confirms William was born in Halifax, Yorkshire around 1813.

The marriage of William Gledhill & Jane Ledger was conducted on 27 November 1831 Dewsbury, All Saints, Yorkshire. [1]

A woolen spinner living in Watergate, Dewsbury in 1841 with wife Jane & children. [2]

With wife Jane & children in 1851 living in Watergate, Dewsbury, Yorkshire. He worked as a worsted spinner. [3]
