Observation - where there are two records for a birth/death or marriage in the Victoria BDM, in my observations one of the records is a copy of the parish record, and the other is the official government record. The number starting with '3' tends to be a copy of the parish record (even when its not stated), and descendants can purchase the copy of the handwritten draft written by the officiating clergy.

• • Note 2 - During this period - Victoria was actually the colony of NSW.

• • Note 3. The only way we will know who the parents are (and match the death record ot the person, is to view the marriage certificate. Daniel Gleeson is a common name in Victoria at this time. He may also ahve been c onvict as there are newspaper reports with a Daniel Gleeson in Ireland who was arrested as part of a "Fenian Conpiriacy.
