February 25, 1905 - Elmer was one of the men who incorporated and bank rolled the Massillon Baseball Association in Columbus, OH for $5000 in capital stock. Other men were Willard L. Bechtel, Bernard Bell, Frank A. Vogt, and G.C Haverstock.
February 1907 in Canton, OH Elmer was elected Vice Present of Whitmer & Barmett Pop Shop which manufactured Vani-Kola Syrup a new soda pop. A new company called the Vani-Kola Co. was started earlier in the same month for $50,000 and Elmer was one of the men involved.
