John fought in the Revolution, there are at least three Johns in similar areas and ages. Our John was a Private who served with Colonel James Martin's Regiment. [4]

In the God Amen. I John Glenn Sen of the Co. Rockingham State of North Carolina being sick and week of Body, but of perfect memory....make my last Will and Testement in the mannor and form as follows.Viz. I leave for my loving wife Sarah all my estate both real and personal as long as she continues my Widow and provided she marrys, then but a childs part contains but to her and during her life and one third of my land, and during her life. also my will is that if she should marry that the residue of my land and moveable estate should be sold and equally divided between my children: William, Mary, Salley, John, Abraham, Isaac, ----(blot of ink), Daniel, James, Elizabeth.
