Biography

Eula Emma Glenn was born July 14, 1915, to Joseph Archie and Mary Octavia L Bryant Glenn in Batavia township in Boone County, Arkansas. On May 11, 1916, an unnamed girl was born to her parents and died from premature birth. She was buried in Capps Cemetery by her father. On July 11, 1917, her sister Cloie “Eva Mae” Glenn was born. In 1920, she lived in Batavia Township with her father, mother, and sisters – Martha, Mandy, Minnie, Ova, and Cloie. Her sister Laura Glenn was born March 11, 1921, and her mother Mary died shortly after. In the 1930 census, it listed her father, her, and Cloie in Prairie, Boone County, Arkansas. Laura’s location is unknown as it’s possible she went to live with an older sister or another relative.

She gave birth to her son James Voin Mangold on April 9, 1933, in Little Arkansaw, Boone, Arkansas. Her second son, Henry Lee Mangold was born June 25, 1936, and died July 2, 1936. He is buried at Capps Cemetery.

She married Henry Christian Mangold on July 9, 1936, in Boone County, Arkansas. In 1937 their daughter Dorothy Mangold was born and her sister, Laura died in 1938 at the age of 16 from pre-eclampsia. On Valentine's Day in 1940, Lola Marie Mangold was born. They lived in Carrollton, Carroll County, Arkansas in 1940. Her father is listed as living with them.

Edith Pearl Mangold was born on April 1, 1942. Freda Alice Mangold was born on January 6, 1945. At this time, they were living in Galena, Kansas. Alberta Mangold was born on November 9, 1947.

Her father died in 1946.

She and Henry divorced on August 26, 1953, in Carroll County, Arkansas and she married Floyd Joseph Martin. She and Floyd had two daughters together. Wanda Darlene Martin and Laveda Lou Martin. Floyd died in 1974 and Henry died in 1975.

Eula Married Frank Turney who predeceased her. She died on September 22, 1992, at the age of 77. She is buried in Capps Cemetery.
