James married Mary Rogers in 1825 in Tennessee.[6][7]
In 1837 the family is in Carroll County, Arkansas. [citation needed] In 1840 James and his wife were in Madison County, Arkansas with six boys.[2] In 1850 and 1860 the family continues in Madison County, Arkansas. [3][4] In 1870, James was in White Oak, Franklin County, Arkansas.[5]
James died 29 August 1878. He is buried at Highland Cemetery, Ozark, Franklin County Arkansas. [8]
