In the 1861 census Gordon (age 53), Farmer Of 52 Acres Employing 3 Labourers, was the head of household in Barns, Tarland, Aberdeenshire.[2]
In the 1881 census Gordon (age 73), Farmer } Of 215 Ac Of Which 64 Arab Emp 2 Men 1 Boy & 1 Girl, was the head of household in Barns, Tarland, Aberdeenshire.[3]
Gordon's death (age 81) was registered in 1889 in the Tarland district.[4]
