Biography

On 15 Apr 1910 at the time of the 1910 US Census, head of household Joseph Gliemi (age 37, born in Italy) was employed as a Brakeman for a Railroad and living in a home he owned with a mortgage at 410 Rawley Avenue in Syracuse, Onondaga, New York with his wife Antonia Gliemi (age 37, born in Italy); son Antonie Gliemi (age 11, born in NY) employed as a Newsboy on the Street; son Dominick Gliemi (age 10, born in NY); daughter Lula Gliemi (age 9, born in NY); son Arthur Gliemi (age 8, born in NY); son Frank Gliemi (age 6, born in NY); son Louis Gliemi (age 3, born in NY); son Joseph Gliemi (age 1 year and 7 months, born in NY); boarder Joseph Palmisano (age 18, born in Italy); and Ninio Palmisano (age 53, born in Italy). Joseph and Antonia had been married for 12 years; Antonia had given birth to 7 children, all seven of whom were still alive at that time. Joseph immigrated from Italy to the USA in 1879 and he was a naturalized citizen; Antonia immigrated to the USA from Italy in 1896. Both of Joseph's parents were born in Italy; both of Antonia's parents were born in Italy. ^[1]
