Biography

Sarah Ann Hughson Whitmore was born on May 11, 1875 in Binbrook, Ontario.

Her parents were John Hughson and Merilda Cowell. They were married November 16, 1865 in Binbrook, Ontario.^[1] Her mother died when She was 5. She had 2 brothers (Andrew b. 1878, John Jr. b. 1871) that stayed with their father, but Sarah Ann was raised by the Glover family (another UEL family and relatives on her mother's side). Her father later Married Charlotte Turner.

Sarah went by her middle name 'Annie' and often used the last name of Glover and Hueston. (Her husband's obituary states his wife's name as "the former Annie Heuston" Under the birth certificates of her children she lists her maiden name as Hughson. On her marriage certificate she honoured the Glover’s by listing them as her parents. This has led to confusions.

Annie married Joseph L. Whitmore in 1898.^[2]

Annie was raised by Joseph H. Glover and Hannah Jane Katurh^[2]. She remained close to the Glovers throughout her life.

Annie died in 1960.^[8]
