The city of Marietta and Marietta Township are often confused in genealogical records. Probably, Mariner Rood died at his home in Marietta Township, near Cornerville, Ohio. The 1920 census shows Mariner's father living in Waterford Township, Washington County, Ohio, Mariner Rood was probably born there in 1921.

Hi Fred,

My name is Dodie and I will be mentoring you on your pre-1500 profiles. If you could message me at your earliest convenience so we can start on the profiles that would be great. The awesome part of this is when we are done working on them, we can put in for your pre-1500 badge!

Happy New Year and Happy Wiki'ing,

Dodie Bartlett, WikiTree Mentor

Fred, I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Be sure to also check out our Volunteer Hub to see our projects that really need new members!

Let me know, and I can help you figure out if there's a project that might interest you. Welcome aboard, we are glad to have you! Lee - Volunteer Coordinator

Congratulations, Frederick! You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree. To get started, please see: How to Use WikiTree.

The central hub where we share ideas and answer questions is our G2G Forum. It is here you will find the Question of the Week: What are some of the ways you have used to get your family interested in genealogy? You may also search for topics of interest and introduce yourself with a post about an ancestor you are researching.

There are numerous ways you may get involved at WikiTree. See the Volunteers Needed page for more information on projects you can contribute to.

Thanks for volunteering and enjoy the journey. --Rod

Hello Frederick

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email we sent has useful links that will help you get started.

WikiTree is unique among genealogy sites in that our goal is to have One Profile per person. We are growing a shared global tree in which we collaborate as a team of researchers.

After you have confirmed your e-mail address, you may wish to add YOUR family branches by becoming a Volunteer. If so, indicate your genealogy interests by filling in TAGs for surnames you want to research, like GARCIA or a location, like SWEDEN. Include a comment on why each TAG is meaningful to you. Make sure to click the "Enter Tag(s) and Volunteer" button and a Greeter will follow-up in confirming your membership.

Thank you for visiting WikiTree. --Rod
