• The name is mildly uncertain. He is called just "Clinton"^[2][3] or "G. C."^[6] or just "George"^[4] or "George C"^[5] or "Clint"^[1]. "Clint" is undoubtedly a nickname. "George Clinton" has been used with "Clinton" as a preferred name.
• There are several sources for the marriage, all of them similar so only one is cited. Of those sources that have an image of the original document, the handwritten last name at birth of the wife is spelled "Auglin". However, spelling of the name in census entries for the parents of the wife is "Anglin" or "Angland". See wife's profile (if it ever gets written).
