Biography

Jonah Glover was the son of Uriah Glover and Elizabeth Robertson. His marriage (and the name of his father) was recorded in the familysearch.org image of a page from "Kentucky, County Marriages, 1797-1954,"

He married Fanny Boyd, daughter of John Boyd on or near May 19, 1795.

"Know all men by these presents that we Jonah Glover and Elijah Shockency are held and firmly bound unto his Excellency Isaac Shelby, Governor of Kentucky in the just and full sum of fifty pounds current money to be paid to his Excellency aforesaid and his successors to which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs Executors and Admns(?) jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 19th day of May 1795. The condition of the above obligation is such that if there should be no legal cause to obstruct a marriage intended shortly to be solemnized between the above bound Jonah Glover and wife Fanny Boyd daughter of John Boyd then the above obligation to be void else to remain in full force. Witness: Jonah Glover Elijah Shockency
