William married Emily Louisa Phillipps in Kensington, South Australia on 1 March 1877.[1] The following marriage notice was published in the South Australian newspaper, The Evening Journal, on 5 March 1877:[2]
GLYDE—PHILLIPPS.—On the 1st March, at Clayton Chapel, Kensington, by the Rev. Thomas Hope, William Lavington, eldest son of the Hon. Lavington Glyde, to Emily Louisa, youngest daughter of the late Jas. Phillipps, Esq., of Adelaide.
