Biography
Oliver D. Goad
1831–1866

Oliver D. Goad was born on November 6, 1831, the son of Nancy and Ephraim. He had four brothers and six sisters. His family lived in Walker County, Georgia.[1] Oliver Goad married Sarah (Winchell) Goad, marrying in Taylor County, Georgia on January 30, 1854[2] and having seven known children together. They made their home in Scott Township, Arkansas.[3]
Oliver Goad enlisted as a Private in the 38th Regiment of the Arkansas Infantry, Confederate States Army, enlisting at Smithville on August 1, 1862.[4]
He died on January 22, 1866, in Lawrence County, Arkansas, at the age of 34.[citation needed]
