Lydia was born after 1917. She was the daughter of Early Goad and Irona McGhee. She passed away in 2011. Daughter of the late Early and Irona McGhee Goad, she was the widow of George Patrick Motley. Additionally, she was preceded in death by a son, David Lee Motley. She was retired from Shaw Industries. She was survived by a daughter, Diane Randolph (Ronald); son, George Thomas Motley (Alice); daughter-in-law, Betty Motley; sister, Jemima Hewitt; ten grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and an extended family of relatives and friends. Her graveside funeral was held on February 2, 2011, with The Rev. Sam Randolph officiating.
