Verda was born about 1896 in Illinois to Arthur Goddard and Emma A. (Nixon) Goddard .[1][2] She married Cornelius "Neal" S. Linder on 4 Feb 1917 in Warden, Illinois.[3] By 1930, they had a family. They were still in Warren Co., Illinois.[4]

By 1940, the two youngest were still at home. They had a hired hand to help with the outside chores. [5]

Verda died in 1978 and is buried with her husband in Galesburg, Illinois.[6]
