There is no direct evidence that William Richard Godden who was born in Kent, England in 1862, and George William Richard Godden who died in Queensland ion 1935, were the same person.
Suggestive evidence includes
The Australian death record for George William Richard Godden lists his parents as Ann Ford and Edward Godden.
The image of the gravestone on the Find a Grave listing for George William Richard Godden actually says "William Richard Godden" (with no George).
The birth date in Kent is consistent with the age at death on the Australian gravestone.
On the other hand,
No immigration record has been found, either from England or into Australia
No record has been found of the addition of "George" to his name (and he already had a brother named George Godden, who was still alive when William Richard Godden was born).

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
I agree the addition of "George" is strange. He appears as "George William Richard Godden" on the birth registrations of his children. Somewhere along the line he picked up another name.
Godden-1040 and Godden-199 appear to represent the same person because: I believe these two profiles are the same person.Queensland Death registration names parents as Ann Ford and Edward Godden.
I will investigate further.
