When Silliman Godfrey was born on May 1, 1750, his father, David Godfrey, was 38 and his mother,Mary Silliman, was 35. Silliman joined the private Connecticut Militia and was trained October 1774. He married Mary Goodsell and they had seven children together. Silliman was a deacon on the Church. He then married Mindwell "Jemima" Osborn on August 23, 1795. He died on March 1, 1829, in Weston, Connecticut, having lived a long life of 78 years.
