From some research it looks like Thomas Hinton married twice. First to Ellen Elizabeth Ross (marriage newspaper notice lists her father as R.J Ross https://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/newspapers/WT18850822.2.6) who is the mother of Thomas George and other children. She passed away in 1923 (death index no. 1923/4293). He then remarried to Elizabeth Marie Donaldson (possibly not her maiden name) in 1935 (marriage index no. 1935/7485) who is mentioned in his will (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QK9V-VV49). Is it possible these two are mixed up here? Perhaps Thomas' second wife had a maiden name of Godfrey?
