Research Note
Currently there is a birth date problem making it appear that this profile is the same as Godfrey-1874. However, this John Godfrey is the son of John Godfrey and Elizabeth Carr he married Mary Greene. Godfrey-1874, John Godfrey was a son of Robert Godfrey and Hannah Hackett and he married Catherine Davis. See Volume 13 of Rhode Island Roots, page 34, that helps sort out Godfrey-1874 and Godfrey-3575. [6]The Rhode Island Roots Issue, Vol. 13, pgs 34-35 does not provide a reference for the birth of either John Godfrey. This John Godfrey's mother, Elizabeth Carr, was the youngest daughter of Rhode Island Govenor Caleb Carr. Much research has been done on that family.
