Cécile Godin was born about 1698, in Acadie, daughter of Pierre Godin and Catherine Pellerin. [1] She was possibly born in Beaubassin where she was recorded at age 2 in the 1700 census. [2]
Cécile (25) married Guillaume Rouleau (22). Their marriage contract was signed before Abel Michon, notary, on 8 January 1722 in St-Pierre-de-la-Rivière-du-Sud, Canada, Nouvelle-France. No record was found for their religious marriage which also took place on 8 January 1722 at an undetermined location. [3][4][5][6]
Cécile died in 1756. Her burial took place on 6 April 1756 in St-François-de-la-Rivière-du-Sud. [7][8] The date of her death was not noted in the register. She was given the age of 60 years.
Research Notes
There are discrepancies concerning the date of marriage. In DGFA, 9 January. Several other reliable sources indicate 8 January.
Could not access the marriage contract online via Ancestry or BAnQ, archives de notaires.
