Biography
Eliza was born in 1862. Her father Ransom died in 1868 and mother Eliza died in 1871
1880 Eufaula, Alabama - Eliza J Godwin, (18) and siblings in household of brother John D Godwin, 32, wife Mary Godwin, 31, and children US Census, 1880
17 Jan 1889 - Eufaula, Barbour, Alabama - James E O'Brien and Miss Lila Godwin, sister of the well known Godwin Brothers of this city, were married this afternoon and left on the northbound train for a bridal trip to Cincinnatti [1]
20 Sep 1889 - Sad Death of Mrs O'Brien, a Recent Bride ... She died yesterday at Gainesville, Georgia {home of her sister Missouri} , where she had gone about 2 months ago for the benefit of her health. Her husband received a telegram on Wednesday announcing her serious illness. He left on the first train for her bedside and yesterday telegraphed her brothers of this city that she was dead.
She was buried in Eufaula[2]
