Biography

Samuel was born in 1687. He was the son of Thomas Godwin and Martha Bridger.

He married (1) Mary Jossey June 19,1711. They had 4 children,

1. Samuel jr. born March 29,1712,
2. Thomas born February 01,1714,
3. Mary born October 11,1717,
4. An infant born September 22,1720 and died the same day.

Mary died the next day September 23,1720 from complications of child birth.

Samuel then married (2) Catharine Scott December 19,1721 and they had 6 children,

1. Martha born 10 Oct 1722,
2. Elizabeth born 16 Feb 1723,
3. Christian,
4. Joseph,
5. Richard and
6. Edmond.

Samuel passed away in 1742.
