Biography
Elijah was born in 1798 in Johnston, North Carolina, United States. He was the son of Thomas Godwin and Elizabeth Pearce.[1]
When Elijah was about 25 he married Sarah Atkinson on 1 January 1823 in Johnston, North Carolina, United States. The couple had one child: Henderson Godwin. Stephen Barns, bm[2]
In the 1840 census Elijah (age about 42) was living in Johnston, North Carolina, United States.[3]
Elijah died at the age of about 46 on 2 October 1844 in Beulah, Johnston, North Carolina, United States.[4][2]
