Doris Laura Goetz was born on January 24, 1896, in Wiscoy Township, Minnesota, the daughter of Frederick and Christiana Goetz. Both of her parents were born in Germany, and came to the United States in 1881.[1][2][3][4]
Her husband worked in Greece and Iran under the Marshall Plan, and she likely accompanied him on trips there. Doris Laura (Goetz) White died in Iran in 1956, at about the age of 60. She was buried with her husband in the White Family Lot at Woodlawn Cemetery in The Bronx, New York.[5][4]
Research Notes
Birth Date: The Minnesota birth record cites a birth date of "02 Jan 1897,"[1] but that conflicts with the date she entered on her passport application, "24th day of January, 1896,"[2] and the year on her gravestone, "1896."[4]
