Thomas Goff, was the son of Thomas Goff and Sarah Goff (nee Wakefield). Born in 1810 at Barnes, he was baptised on 15 Apr 1808 at Barnes St Mary.
His mother Sarah dies in 1814. We do not know what happened to him and his siblings but it may be that they were looked after by his mother's family who are from Stone, in Staffordshire, as we find his sister Mary Anne in this area as an adult.
Thomas does not seem to be present in the 1841 census - although there are possible entries for him.
In 1851 he is in Manchester working as a Waiter. He is shown as married, but is not with his wife. A matching marriage record for Thomas has not been found as yet.
By 1861 he is in the Birmingham Union Workhouse, still shown as a waiter, but is now a widower.
In 1871 he is at 8 Lower Essex Street in Birmingham, as a Boarder. No occupation is given.
He dies in the second quarter of 1880 in Birmingham.
