Mary was born about 1813. She was baptised on 19 April in Long Eaton by parents John and Mary. John was a Farmer. [1]
On 3 March 1840 Mary Ann married John Hales Sweet in Bristol. John Hales was an Esquire, his father William was a Nurseryman. Mary Ann's father John Goff was a Farmer. Amos Goff and William Sweet were witnesses. [2] Neither had been married before.
It appears as if husband John got together with someone else (also Mary Ann) and had another family. Both families are spearately in the 1861 census.
In 1861 Mary Ann was married and living in Leeds with 3 chlidren. She was a proprietor of houses. Her son William was a medical student. John wasn't there. [3]
She passed away in 1882.
