He was born in Baldwin, N.Y., and lived in Manchester, Vt., before relocating to the South Florida area 24 years ago. He was a detective sergeant and had worked for the Nassau County Police Department in New York for 30 years. He was a member of the Nassau County Police Benevolent Association, the Superior Officers Association, and the Detectives Association. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps serving in World War II. Survivors include his daughter, Lisa J. Hough of Jensen Beach; sons, Thomas Golden of New York, and Steven Golden of Vermont; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian. Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 S.E. Indian St., Stuart, FL 34997.
