An article I wrote to Scotlands people, about founding out about my Scottish people from Paisley, that emigrated to Shanghai/Hong Hong all back in1865. :Maybe someone who read it might know about the family...
This is the information I have on my family that live in China
North China Herald 04 September 1886
At Keelung, on the 19th ult., Samuel Young, of the I.M. Customs, a native of Paisley, Scotland, aged 46. Deeply regretted by a large circle of Freinds.

CHRISTIANSEN - YOUNG. - On June 10, 1908, at the Union Church, Hongkong, by the Rev, C.H.Hickling. B. Christiansen, C.E. of the Canton-Kowloon Railway, to Alice Young of Shanghai.
Mary Kraghs Father was danish, but work in Japan and later China.
Mary live in a nonery in England.
She had a son born 3 April 1905. 34 Range road, in Shanghai.
There was a notis in North China Herald 10 June 1904
YOUNG - KRAGH. - On the 4th of June, 1904, at H.B.M's Consulate-General.
William, eldest son of the late Samuel Young, I.M. Customs' Service, to Mary, eldest daughter of C.H.Kragh, late of Nagasaki.
I was wondering if anyone would have some information about her.
William young was born in Shanghai, He was my grandmothers Alice brother.he got married to a Danish girl Mary kragh. North China Herald 10 June 1904 YOUNG - KRAGH. - On the 4th of June, 1904, at H.B.M's Consulate-General. William, eldest son of the late Samuel Young, I.M. Customs' Service, to Mary, eldest daughter of C.H.Kragh, late of Nagasaki. I know that William and Mary gave birth to a son 3. April 1905 in 34 range road in Shanghai. I am not shore if it was Charles C young, or he came later.
They got a son call Charles c. Young. Who married Minnie Symons.
Elizabeth Mackie (née) young was Alice Christiansen (née) sister.
Elizabeth Young moved to Scotland, where she lived with her uncle and aunt, :Alexander Young and Louisa Young (nee Duncan). I found Elizabeth living in Glasgow in the 1891, 1901 and 1911 censuses. Elizabeth Young married :William Moon Mackie in Glasgow in 1918, and the couple must have moved to Bute after the wedding.
Alice young born Christiansen will was through learning Elizabeth’s address on Bute that I managed to start finding Samuel Young and my other Scottish ancestors. I found a piece of paper (dated 1929) in my mother's possessions which said 'Mrs. W.M. Mackie, Ettrick Bank, Port Bannatyne, Bute'. From that single piece of information, I was able to start searching various records on the ScotlandsPeople website and eventually discovered who my Scottish ancestors. This was a 'Eureka' moment for me, and I'm very happy t learn that Paisleyn is my Scottish 'hometown.
The Mrs. W.M. Mackie turned out to be Elizabeth Mackie (nee Young), who died on Bute in 1950. Elizabeth's husband, William Moon Mackie, died on Bute in 1963. When Elizabeth died, her address was 17 Castle Street, Port Bannatyne, and William’s address when he died was Thomson Home, Rothesay. As mentioned above, the couple also had connections to an address called Ettrick Bank, Port Bannatyne, in North Bute - I think they perhaps lived there between 1925 and 1930. I am trying to find relatives or friends of Elizabeth and William Moon Mackie, from bute Scotland, would love to find out more about my grandmother and family.

You have an extraordinary collection of family pictures which makes for a wonderful profile page. I am sorry you don't know where your grandmother is buried in China? Hong Kong? That would be very diffcult to research.
I can't help but like your father's -- Marx Goldmark-- portrait with his bird klavs. He must have been a character --your father and the bird!
Thank you Beth for the kind Word about My family, finding anyone in China is difficult, but I did find some help when I found my grandmother’s brother grandchildren in London, unforgettable they was not interested in genealogy but i dd get some information.
Thank you Susan for awarding a Family Star to me recently. I appreciate that very much. It encourages me to continue to help others navigate through their ancestry.
I wanted to say a real thank you, because sometimes there are difficult days and your star has magically eased the tension . .
And also the photos on your profile are fascinating!
Thank you for the Generous Genealogist Blue Star badge. You are so kind and a GREAT encouragement. Please keep up the wonderful work you do on WikiTree.
Also, I hope my greeting is correct. It is night here so I think it is right. Anyway, I wanted to try to get it right. :)

I really like the photo of your father with his bird Klavs on his head. He must have been a special man. There is something so charming and "real" about the photo.
Thank you, Susan, for suggesting best answer for my accuracy challenge on the subject "strength." I say suggesting because we'll see if it holds. Twice before I had a best answer selected, then hours later, it was removed. So whatever happens it was sweet of you to suggest it. Pat Miller
It took a week, Susan, but as I feared, it was removed. Again, it was kind of you to suggest.
Susan, thank you for your comments on the photos I'm adding to the free space page for John Miller's Black & White Photos. Since Chris Willoughby and Bryan Lawson taught me how to insert photos among text (as you've done here on your page so beautifully and skillfully), I am slowly building the space for my father's 1950s photos with a description of each photo added. Your encouragement is so appreciated.
I was wondering where you were but it looks like you and Poul are traveling again - good for you! The next time you're in Spain let us know and we will meet you.
Hi cousin! Hope you and the hubbie are doing well. I don't get on FB much anymore so I haven't seen any updates. I thought I'd check in here and see how you are.
Right after I posted a thank-you for the Generous Genealogist badge, I saw that you had chosen my phone book answer as Best Answer. I am happy that anyone even read it! So thank you again!
Hello, Susan! I just realized that you had given me a Generous Geneticist Badge way back in December. Thank you so much. As I stated in a private message I sent to you, I really enjoyed looking at your vintage photographs. Everyone is so attractive in your family pictures. Is this typical among Danish people or is your family just blessed?
