Biography

May Eveline, daughter of Frederick and Eliza Goldsborough was baptised at St Paul's Church, Northampton, Northamptonsire, England on 27th October 1895[1]

In 1901 May, aged 5, was living with her mother Eliza (44) and her sister Minnie (4) 8 Grafton Street, Northampton, the same house, but different household to her grandmother Eliza (Bird) Fleming (bef.1828-1907) andunclesWilliam, Thomas and George [2].

In 1911 May, aged 15, was a boot machinist, living with her parents Eliza (55) and Fred (59, a boot finisher), and her sister May (15, a boot machinist) and Winifred (14, a boot machinist) were living at 18 Inkerman Terrace, Northampton [3]. In 1939 May (45, born 22 April 1895) and Annie M. (44) were living at Flat 1, Balfour Road, Northampton (presumably 21 Balfour Road from the sequence in census). Bother were boot machinists [4].

On 11th October 1944 May inherited £158 11s from her uncle, Arthur Flemming of High Street, Wootton, who died at 34 London Road, Daventry on 11th September 1944 [5].

May died on 6th Dec 1970 at 69 Balfour Road, Northampton, leaving £1,610 (will proven at Birmingham, 5th January 1971) [6].
