On Saturday, July 14th, at 6 p.m., St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Taree, was the scene of. a very pretty wedding when Sylvia Mabel, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. McFadden, of Mitchell's Island, was married to Hector William, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Hector Gollan, of Mondrook, Tinonee. Rev. H. S. Parsons officiated at the ceremony.
The bride who entered the church escorted by her father, was charmingly gowned in ivory white flat crepe, made floor length, and long, tight fitting sleeves with shoulder epaulettes. The veil, which was loaned by Mrs. E. A. Turner, of Bondi, was arranged in halo effect, being held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms. The bridal bouquet was composed of euchris lilies and pale pink gladioli. The bridesmaid, Miss Mary Gollan, sister of the bride, wore an ankle length frock of golden coloured morocain and added a bandeau of gold lame. She carried a bouquet of gold roses. Both bouquets were made by the bridegroom's mother.
Mr. Roy McFadden brother of the bride, acted as best man. The church was beautifully decorated by the Presbyterian Fellowship girls. After the ceremony, a reception was held at Hayward's Cafe, where the tables were artistically , decorated in white and gold. On the top of the three-decker wedding cake, which was made by the bridegroom's mother, stood a cut-glass vase of the dainty "Stars of Bethlehem." Rev. H. S. Parsons presided and the customary toasts were honored.
When leaving for the honeymoon, which was spent in the Hunter River district, the bride wore a grey tailored costume, with matching accessories. All the guests. at the wedding accompanied the bridal couple to the train and gave them a right royal send-off.
