I selected this quote because it speaks to me about the relevance of a child’s need for not only emotional and mental nourishment, but also for the essentiality of the arts. By having to focus not just in the scholastic part of the program but rather by implementing a curriculum that exposes the greater atmosphere that surrounds the child, an educational institution would impact children in more ways than just artistically. Because by being exposed to the broader horizon that the arts bring (music, art, dance, theatre and cultures) the child will absorb different disciplines that are adjacent to the arts. Thus; by exploring the varying disciplines the outcome will only open doors that will allow the child, and eventually the adult to become a well-rounded citizen.
