Jane was the daughter of John Gooch and Elizabeth. She moved with her family from Virginia to Harrison County, Kentucky where she married William Campbell on 8 Mar 1796.[1][2][3] They moved for a short time near Franklin, Williams County, Tennessee, then to Pike County, Missouri in 1818.[4]

The birth year on her gravestone is very likely to be wrong as it is inconsistent with census records and she would have only been about age 12 when she got married. There was no indication that she was underage in her marriage record.
