Broadford Courier and Reedy Creek Times. - 17 May 1895.
It was reported in Broadford on Wednesday morning that a rush had taken place at Kerrisdale, and a well defined reef 2 feet wide had been discovered. About 40 men are said to be on the field, and excitement prevails. At Strath Creek, Gooch and Munro are still on good gold, and three other parties are hard at work in the same locality, some of them being well pleased with their chances of success. [11]
Yea Chronicle- Thursday 13 June 1895.
KING PARROT CREEK.—
Mining is fashioinable here as in other places. Gooch and Munro are doing fairly well, so are Hairis and party, but the water is very troublesome. -In some of the claims half the time is taken up in baling. [12]

Broadford Courier and Reedy Creek Times -10 December 1897.
Gooch and mate at the New Chum lease are obtaining nice gold. I saw about 2 ozs from there last week. A good amount of loose gold is being obtained in the district lately, fossickers being a bit more fortunate judging by local purchases. [14]
Broadford Courier and Reedy Creek Times - 3 November 1899.
DEATH- We regret having to record the death of Mr Gooch of Strath Creek. Deceased had been ill in bed some time, and on Sunday while moving in his bed he seemed to faint off and expired without regaining consciousness. The late Mr Gooch leaves a wife and family to mourn his loss. Friends rallied around the afflicted family and attended to the funeral arrangements. The Rev. A. R. Campbell conducted the service at the grave. [15]
