The 1898 census gives Good Red Bird Woman's Hocąk name as Wa-nic-shutch-pin-win-kaw, which is for Wanįkšujᵋpįwįga, from wanįk, "bird"; šuč (> sujᵋ), "red"; ', "good, nice, pretty"; -wį-, a feminine gender infix; and -ga, a definite article suffix used in personal names. Bird names are almost always from the Upper Moiety.
