There is very little information about Abigail Goodale and her putative marriage to Ebenezer Abbé. Most of it comes from Public Trees on Ancestry.com and little appears to be based on historical records. Where historical records do exist it is not clear precisely to whom they refer in some cases.
[1] observes that she was born on the 3rd July 1714, for which there exists an historical record. That site however goes on to say:
From the book published in 1916 "Abbe -Abbey Genealogy In Memory of John Abbe and his Descendants" by Cleveland Abbe and Joseph Genung Nichols[2]
EBENEZER ABBE, JR., son of Ebenezer and Mary (Allen) Abbe, born July 27, 1708; resided in Windham or North Windham, Conn.
Married February 22, 1729-30, ABIGAIL CARY, probably daughter of Joseph Cary, jr.
One account gives her name Abigail Soale and still another says she was Abigail Goodale, daughter of Isaac Goodale of Salem.
It is apparent from the historical record that her father was not Isaac Goodale but David Goodale.
Timeline
Birth
ref.
Abigail Goodale, daughter of David Goodale and Abigail née Elliot, was born on the 3rd of July, 1714&[3][4]
She was baptised on the 1st August, 1714[5] at Danvers, Essex, Massachusetts, United States.
WikiTree links added but this confuses the issue slightly as these children are attributed to Abigial Cary, who may be Abigail Goodale, and one to Abigail Savage who also may be Abigail Goodale.
bapt. at Windham, July 27, 1735. Perhaps he was the Ezekiel Abbe who served during the French and Indian War : April 21-Dec. 2, 1755, in 3d Company, 2d Regiment, Major Isaac Foote ; June 8-Oct. 3, 1756, in 3d Company, 2d Regiment, Major Jehosaphat Starr; 16 days in militia company under Captain John Carpenter, Aug., 1757.
b. Aug. 26, 1737. This is probably the Abner Abbe who enlisted June 8, 1756, in 2d Regiment, 3d Company, Major Jehosaphat Starr ; d. or was captured Sept. 19, 1756.
b. Aug. 22, 1743 ; probably m. Abial Averill.(parents on WikiTree: Ebenezer Abbe Jr. and Abigail (Savage) Abbe)
8
Samuel Abbe
b. June 21, 1747.
Death
Abigail died on the 6th of November, 1796 at Tolland, Hampden, Massachusetts, United States[15]
Alternatively Abigail died on the 6th March, 1797 at Salem Village, Essex, Massachusetts, United States.[16]
Notes
Note on wife's name: Abigail Cary is listed as the wife of Ebenezer Abbe JR. although some records list other names. Ebenezer was only married ONCE so for convention I'm using Abigail Cary as that is how its listed in the genealogy book.
Note: This identification is almost certainly wrong. Research needs to be done to prove the LNAB of the wife of Ebenezer Abbe jr.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Abigail by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Abigail:
Goodale-6 and Goodale-65 appear to represent the same person because: These two profiles are clearly the same person. This is part of a mini project I am undertaking to sort out the Abbe profiles and their connection to Loring. This is one stage.
Savage-1201 and Cary-53 appear to represent the same person because: The Genealogy Book only shows that he married Abigail Cary but notes that some records called her Soale and others Goodale. Based on that I believe this is the SAME person and reference just needs to be made to the other possible names. See: Abbe-Abbey genealogy, in memory of John Abbe and his descendants

Savage-1201 and Goodale-65 appear to represent the same person because: Hello, based on the fact that Goodale-65 contains sources for the LNAB (albeit from Ancestry public trees), while Savage-1201 does not have any sources at all, I would propose this merger goes ahead since the profiles appear to represent the same person. A notation could be made in the biography to record the fact that there may alternative records to support a potential LNAB of Savage in the alternative. If you agree with this suggestion, please approve the merge. Thanks very much :-) Leigh
The wife of EBnezer has the names Carey, Savage and Goodale associated with it. There are NO marriage records of Ebenezer Abbe Jr. and Abigail Carey. The only record to mention to an Abigail Carey in regards to the Abbe family at all was her being mentioned in a will but that person I am almost positive that the Abigail Carey mentioned in the will was Abigail Abbe who married Benjamin Carey.
As for Abigail Savage it very well could have been a married name or it could have been a misprint as I have found no other records for an Abigail Savage other than 1 marriage record.
