Thomas B. Goode was born about 1830 in Chesterfield, Virginia to Walthall Goode(1797 Va) and Margaret Ann Lewis Goode(1805; noted as born in Va in 1850 census, born in NJ in 1860 record).

Father Walthall noted in census of Chesterfield in 1830, 1840.

The 1850 census showed Thomas in the home of parents in Chesterfield, and the following siblings were shown:

3. Hannah Araminta 1836
4. Ann C. 1838

The 1860 census showed the family had moved to the southern part of Pittsylvania County. No additional children noted.

Thomas B. Goode would enlist in the CSA in 1861, and would serve in the 57th Virginia Infantry, Company F. He was killed in the Battle of Gettysburg on July 3, 1863.
