Biography

Martha Goode was born about 1750 in Essex or Caroline Co., Virginia. Martha Goode Blackburn passed away after 1850.[1]In the 1850 census she is living with her daughter Elizabeth and husband Joel Lewis. The birth date for Martha is listed as about 1766, but it would have been earlier due to the birth of her children. When Martha attested to the service of Major Richard Goode it shows her birth as ca 1756.[2]

Martha was married to Younger Blackburn prior to 1783 when she is mentioned in her father's Will as Patty Blackburn.[3]
