Amanda A. Goodell was born on March 11, 1872 in Hillsdale, Miami, Kansas, United States, daughter of Joseph Cooley Goodell (1845–1925) and Elizabeth Ann Nance (1849–1939).[1]

Amanda (16) married William A Davis (33) (born on December 11, 1854; son of Isaac Davis and Sarah (Pease) Davis) on October 22, 1888 in Buda, Buffalo, Nebraska. Their children were:
