Edward Alexander Gooden was born on February 23, 1898, in Rapid City, Manitoba, Canada son of Oscar Gooden and Annie Sophia (Bygrove) Gooden. Edward served in WWI with the Canadian Infantry (Manitoba Regiment) and was killed in action. His name is one of over 11,000 Canadian soldiers memorialized on the Vimy Ridge Memorial in Pas de Calais, France. Edward is commemorated on page 244 of the First World War Book of Remembrance.
